Computer is plenty powerful enough to handle it. I don't understand why this would happen, the only thing different on my end is that Dark Souls has been updated from GFWL to Steam and updated my display drivers. I’ve tried playing at both 2560x1400 and standard 1080P. I went into the dsfix.ini file and enabled the 60fps option. I googled it and found a few solutions on Steam forums but none worked for me. After setting it up and launching the game I noticed a really brutal screen tearing effect. Problems with beating him come down to two things: I don’t have enough time before dying to learn much about control around him, and the controls themselves feel so poor. I recently reinstalled Dark Souls in preparation for the remaster and got DSFix going. repeat steps 2-3 for some unknown reason. reinstall GFWL w/ compatibility for XP srv pack 3 4. Just make sure you set 'enableTextureOverride 1' in DSfix.ini.
Try deleting DSfix (the folder dsfix, DINPUT8.dll, DSfix.ini, DSfix.log, DSfixKeys.ini) and installing it fresh. I thought I would insta-fall in love with it because everyone praises the series, but so far it’s been a poor experience. 2) Make sure the enableBackups variable is set to '1' (with that being enabled and '0' being disabled. Things I've done do to get this game running (with DSfix): 1. If you installed DSfix using my mod, rather than directly, some of my default DSfix options might be wrong for you. Even though I’m running at a high resolution the graphics look like mush, especially textures which are washed out. The movements and controlling feels laggy and very imprecise. For anyone who is using Realtek onboard audio and is having trouble getting the downmixing fix to work, try doing same steps in the Realtek HD Audio Manager (The orange speaker symbol in the system tray).
So I broke down and got an Xboxone controller, got DS1 all set and streaming to the the tv, and so far the experience has been horrible.
